Thinking About Buying a Home in Southwest Florida?
Congratulations! Buying a home in the Sunshine State is exciting, but the process can feel challenging, especially when you currently live in another state. That’s why having the right team of experienced professionals by your side is so important.
Step 1: Find the Right Real Estate Agent
Working with a knowledgeable, on-the-ground real estate agent is the first step toward a successful Florida home purchase.
A great Realtor understands the local market, neighborhoods, communities, property values, HOA requirements, and the many details that can be difficult to navigate from hundreds of miles away. Just as importantly, you need to feel comfortable with and confident in the person representing you.
If you need a referral, I would be happy to connect you with one of the outstanding real estate professionals I know throughout Naples and Southwest Florida.
Step 2: Choose an Experienced Mortgage Professional
The next step is working with a mortgage professional who can offer competitive financing, a wide range of loan options, and the experience necessary to make your mortgage process simple, transparent, and well-managed from beginning to end.
I’m Jeff Marsack with Lower Mortgage, an independent mortgage banker. I have been helping people finance homes since 1993, and today I’m proud to combine that experience with Lower Mortgage’s national lending platform, advanced technology, extensive product selection, and outstanding operational resources.
Lower Mortgage has locations throughout Florida, giving our clients the strength and resources of a nationwide mortgage company along with a genuine local presence. Here in Southwest Florida, that includes locations on Davis Road in Naples and Bonita Bay Boulevard in Bonita Springs.
That local presence is especially valuable when you’re purchasing from outside the state. While technology allows us to keep the mortgage process convenient and efficient wherever you may be, our Southwest Florida offices and local relationships mean we also understand the communities and market you’re preparing to call home.
Lower Mortgage offers a broad selection of mortgage programs designed to meet the individual needs of homebuyers. Whether you’re purchasing a primary residence, second home, vacation property, or investment property, my role is to help you evaluate the available options and determine the financing strategy that best fits your goals.
But my connection to Southwest Florida is also personal.
My wife, Linda, and I went through this same process when we decided to purchase our own slice of Florida paradise. We’re both avid golfers and loved the idea of living in a golf community, but having previously only rented in the Marco Island and Naples area, buying here was both exciting and a little daunting.
Our Realtor helped us navigate the incredible number of golf communities, understand the differences between bundled and non-bundled clubs, and make sense of HOA fees, membership requirements, and everything else that comes with purchasing in Southwest Florida.
In late 2021, we closed on our beautiful Naples home, with much of the process completed through FaceTime! Today, we’re fortunate to spend a large part of the year enjoying green fairways and white-sand beaches instead of the many inches of white snow back home in Michigan.
That firsthand experience gives me a genuine understanding of the questions, concerns, and excitement that come with purchasing a Florida home while living out of state. I don’t just help finance homes in Southwest Florida, I’m also part of the community and have personally traveled the same road many of my clients are now beginning.
I would love the opportunity to learn more about your plans and help you explore the mortgage options available for your new Southwest Florida home. Call or email me anytime. I’ll also be reaching out personally to introduce myself and talk about your plans to join us here in paradise—and perhaps someday on the golf course!
